Installing the WordPress Plugin

Welcome! Respectify helps you build a healthier comment section by guiding your visitors toward more constructive conversation. The WordPress plugin makes this easy - comments are evaluated as they're submitted, and when there's room for improvement, visitors get helpful feedback before their comment is posted.

Installation​

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin
  2. Search for "Respectify"
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate

That's it for the plugin itself.

Getting Your API Credentials​

Respectify needs to know who you are. You'll need your account email and an API key:

  1. Head to respectify.ai and sign in (or create an account if you haven't already)
  2. Go to API Keys in your dashboard
  3. Click Create New Key and give it a name you'll recognise (something like "My Blog" works fine)
  4. Copy the API key - you'll paste this into WordPress in a moment
tip

Your API key is shown only once when you create it. Treat it like a password - keep it somewhere private and secure, not somewhere others might see it. If you think you've lost one or it's been exposed, you can revoke it in your dashboard and create a new one.

Connecting the Plugin​

  1. In WordPress, go to Settings → Respectify
  2. Enter your Email (the one you used to sign up at respectify.ai)
  3. Paste your API Key
  4. Click Test to verify everything's working

You should see a success message. That's it - Respectify is now active on your site with sensible defaults.
